WORMWOOD’s New Single “Thousand Doorless Rooms” Is A Fairly Main Black Metallic Bummer

Swedish atmospheric black steel band Wormwood have unveiled The Star, the climactic conclusion to their critically acclaimed conceptual sequence often called the Trilogy of Loss of life. Following the historic tragedy explored in Nattarvet and the apocalyptic themes of Arkivet, The Star marks the band’s most bold and profound work to this point — the symbolic remaining breath of a cosmos that, because the band boldly suggests, we could by no means have deserved.

The Star picks up the conceptual torch the place its predecessors left off. Whereas Nattarvet unearthed the grim actuality of the 19th-century Nordic famine and Arkivet delved into humanity’s inevitable collapse, The Star ventures far past Earthly confines. The album paints a harrowing but unusually lovely portrait of a dying universe, inviting listeners to witness the grand finale of existence by means of Wormwood’s signature mix of melodic black steel, atmospheric layering, and poetic lyricism.

Frontman 9 explains: “The Star is the final gasp of a universe we did not deserve. With this album, we invite our followers to hitch us on a cosmic odyssey, exploring the depths of despair and the peace that follows. It is the conclusion of a trilogy, a narrative we have been wanting to share.”

The Star was blended and mastered by famend Swedish steel producer Sverker Widgren (Diabolical, ex-Centinex, and so on.). Take a look at the one “Thousand Doorless Rooms” beneath in all its depressing glory, and possibly do it late at evening – actually finish your day on a bummer. Pre-orders for The Star can be found right here.
