The Waterboys have introduced particulars of their sixteenth studio album, Life, Demise And Dennis Hopper, which is launched on April 4 through their very own Solar Data label.

Operating to 25 tracks, the album is a track cycle framing the late actor/director/photographer’s life story towards the final 75 years of western popular culture. “The arc of his life was the story of our occasions,” says Mike Scott. “He was on the massive bang of youth tradition in Insurgent With out A Trigger with James Dean; and the beginnings of Pop Artwork with the younger Andy Warhol. He was a part of the counter-culture, hippie, civil rights and psychedelic scenes of the ’60s. Within the ’70s and ’80s he went on a wild 10-year rip, virtually died, got here again, obtained straight and have become a five-movies-a-year character actor with out dropping the flicker in his eye or the sense of hazard or unpredictability that at all times gathered round him.”
