Pioneers of ambient home, The Orb have introduced particulars of their new album Buddhist Hipsters.
Helmed by Alex Paterson, partnered by Michael Rendall, Buddhist Hipsters options visitor appearances from Roger Eno, Steve Hillage, Miquette Giraudy, Youth, Paul Ferguson, Andy Falconer, Eric Von Skywalker, Rrome Alone, Violeta Vicci and Andy Cain.
Alex stated: “I used to be having a dream, and on this dream was an escalator descending out of the clouds, upon which have been Buddhists and hipsters travelling downwards, and beckoning me down from the highest, was Roger Eno. Once I awakened, I had a textual content from him, asking if we fancied extra collabs, so he’s on the report, amongst different mates.
“Recording the album and taking part in latest gigs have been comfy, pleased, and therapeutic experiences, largely on account of Michael Rendall, who’s a genius that picks up something he turns his hand to. We’ve an exquisite, simpatico relationship on report and on stage. General, the size, arc, and power of Buddhist Hipsters power mirrors one our followers’ faves, U.F.Orb.”
One of many first tracks to emerge from the album, is new single Arabebonics. The title of the Japanese-influenced hip-hop observe is a phrase invented by rapper Rrome Alone, who supplies vocals and is supported by extra strings from Violeta Vicci.

Cerebral Escapism
Buddhist Hipsters opens with Spontaneously Combust that includes Steve Hillage’s unmistakeable guitar, Miquette Giraudy on classic EMS synth. Current dwell set starter, P~1 slowly builds into firing cosmic drum’n’bass cyclone, whereas the bleeped-up late 70s synth of Baraka is an ode to a well-known Kenyan blind rhino, who, tellingly is named a logo of resilience.
Already a agency dwell favorite, A Sacred Alternative is prime leaping reggae skank, with Youth on bass, Paul Ferguson on drums, Andy Falconer on atmospherics, and vocals by Eric Von Skywalker. Whereas Andy Cain’s dulcet tones grace the plaintive-arpeggiated-prog-throbber It’s Coming Quickly.
With Alex having met lovers rock legend Trevor Waters and discovering his traditional Love Me Tonight, Rendall remoted the vocal utilizing Logic, reworking the unique into one other album spotlight. Newly titled The Oort Cloud (Too Evening), and aided by cult Manchester disc jockey Dr D, they embark on a traditional NYC deepside journey.
