U.Okay. teams Sizzling Chip and Sleaford Mods have mix their vastly-different musical kinds to craft two songs as a part of a profit single for the Struggle Baby charity.
The 2 tracks – titled “Nom Nom Nom” and “Cat Burglar” – had been recorded on the iconic Abbey Highway Studios and have been pressed to 7″ vinyl, packaged with paintings from English artist David Shrigley.
All proceeds from the sale of the only will go to Struggle Baby, which works to enhance the psychosocial wellbeing of kids affected by battle.
The collaboration took place as a part of Abbey Highway’s Lock-In sequence, which the studio says is “designed to light up the musical artistic expertise, providing a window into an in any other case closed course of”. For its newest Lock-In, Londoners Sizzling Chip invited Nottingham duo Sleaford Mods into the studio for a collaboration which has since been nicknamed ‘Sizzling Mods’.
“Making these songs over the course of at some point at Abbey Highway was an ideal expertise,” Sizzling Chip stated of the pairing. “We arrived with no plan however rapidly started working collectively in a harmonious approach, with a number of improvisation and little or no ego. “’Cat Burglar’ is a bizarre prog rock meets B-52s jam that explores the slender corridors of recent human expertise.”
As Williamson indicated, Sleaford Mods final launched an album by the use of 2023’s UK Grim. The report grew to become the highest-charting of their profession, reaching No. 3 on the U.Okay. chart. Equally, Sizzling Chip’s newest effort was 2022’s Freakout/Launch, which peaked at No. 16 of their homeland.
