Primus could have discovered their new man and he’s a man you already know. After the veteran band revealed in late October that longtime drummer Tim “Herb” Alexander had unexpectedly departed the group, they put out an open name for a brand new timekeeper and one of many musicians who threw his sticks into the ring is already a star in his personal proper.
The band posted a video earlier this week of “Malfunction Junction” star Billy Strings placing down the guitar and sliding onto the drum stool to offer it a shot. Bluegrass ripper Strings pulls off a collection of spectacular strikes displaying his velocity and dexterity, one thing he’d want if he had been really to again up the group identified for bass-heavy tracks with uncommon time signatures. “Okay, right here’s my audition to play for Primus,” says Strings earlier than he exhibits off his abilities, ending with a flourish and a livid smacking of the drum sticks within the air to punctuate the tape.
