Creeper have introduced that their fourth album, Sanguivore II: Mistress of Dying, can be launched through Spinefarm on Halloween, October 31. And as a style of what we will anticipate, William Von Ghould’s band have served up a deliciously darkish new single, Blood Magick (It is A Ritual).
The album is the follow-up to 2023’s Sanguivore. A press launch states: “Sanguivore II: Mistress of Dying is a thematic sequel slightly than a direct continuation of the unique story. Like a basic horror anthology it spins a brand new story from the identical bloodline as the unique, this time utilizing its bloodied vampiric coronary heart because the widespread thread to introduce a model new narrative.
“The story takes us again to the ethical hysteria that was the Satanic Panic and its impression upon the world of ‘80s onerous rock and heavy steel. It was a time through which the late Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne, and Judas Priest had been dogged by courtroom instances. Iron Maiden performed deep into America’s heartland, whereas W.A.S.P. and Mötley Crüe infected conservative minds with outrageous theatricality and decadence.”
William Von Ghould introduces the story: “Beneath the flashing neon of a distant dream, a rock and roll nightmare is coming true. A vampire band rampages throughout Nineteen Eighties America, leaving solely corpses behind.
“However on the horizon, a shadow stirs. Half slasher, half satanic panic nightmare, a brand new power rises by means of the mist, able to hunt the hunter. The Mistress Of Dying is a vampire huntress on a path to finish this vampire bloodline for good. However can she stake their hearts earlier than the ultimate curtain falls?”
Now come on, what’s to not love, right here?
As with its predecessor, Sanguivore II: Mistress of Dying is produced by Tom Dalgety (Pixies, Ghost, Killing Joke).
The follow-up to the album’s first single Headstones, Blood Magick (It is A Ritual) seems like a cross between Belinda Carlisle’s Heaven Is A Place On Earth, Ozzy Osbourne’s The Final Sin, and Laibach, and if that does not get you excited for Sanguivore II: Mistress of Dying we do not know you anymore.
