The beginnings of “Come To Me” weren’t precisely auspicious. John Cowsill first performed the tune in a dwell setting a long time in the past along with his brother Barry, who was overdoing it on the whammy bar on the time.
“It was actually beginning to drive us loopy,” says Cowsill, who, other than his platinum-selling tenure along with his household’s group, spent 23 years as a drummer and vocalist for the Seashore Boys.
This up to date model of “Come To Me” will be discovered on Lengthy After The Fireplace (Label 51), Cowsill’s first album along with his spouse of greater than twenty years, Vicki Peterson (Bangles, Continental Drifters). Made up of songs written by John’s late brothers, Barry and Invoice Cowsill, the LP is about for vinyl launch on April 12, File Retailer Day.
“The primary time I heard ‘Come To Me’ was off a cassette recording,” says Peterson. “You can inform the band didn’t actually know the tune, and you’ll hear Barry on the recording repeatedly saying, ‘Decide it up!’ as a result of the band was dragging the tempo. I feel Barry can be so happy with the environment we created (on the brand new model), and (producer) Paul Allen will get the credit score for the ’70s-style reprise outro. The Cowsills had been the primary band I ever heard do this kind of reprise on their tune ‘Contact Mae.’”
We’re proud to premiere Vicki Peterson And John Cowsill’s “Come to Me.”
