“Operating Out Of Time” was written and recorded in an Austin liquor retailer. Tucked away in a neighborhood on the east aspect of city, the off-hours workspace had turn into a refuge for San Gabriel’s James Bookert throughout a time of uncertainty after his former band, Whiskey Shivers, was pressured off the highway as a result of pandemic.
“I discovered myself at a crossroads,” says Booker. “Do I proceed enjoying with a well-oiled touring machine that’s been at it for practically a decade, or do I totally decide to my efforts as San Gabriel?”
There’s a bit extra to the story than that. “The music is my coming to understand that life is brief, and that I need to fill my time with issues that fulfill me as an individual,” says Booker.
