Late keyboard legend Ian McLagan’s wild tales of the Stones, Rod Stewart, Bob Dylan and extra


The late, nice Ian McLagan’s CV learn like a veritable who’s who of rock’n’roll. He first got here to prominence within the mid-60s as one quarter of quintessential mod outfit the Small Faces, previous to which his Muleskinners backed each Howlin’ Wolf and Sonny Boy Williamson. Within the early 70s, he teamed up with Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wooden in The Faces. He’s since shared phases and studios with the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Bonnie Raitt, the Everly Brothers, Georgia Satellites, Melissa Etheridge, Bruce Springsteen and Billy Bragg. In 2008, McLagan – who handed away in 2014 – sat right down to share his recollections of only a handful of his collaborators and confidants.
