No tariffs have up to now been levied in opposition to psyched-out Mexican stoner doom, so it continues to circulate throughout the border into the U.S. unfettered. The newest import is a full-length debut, Demiurgo, from instrumental trio, Veljet, who rumble by way of eight fuzzed-out, sludgy head journeys in a good 45 minutes. By no means ones to easily trip a riff for six or seven minutes, these dudes—Oscar (guitar), Hugo (drums), Guillermo (bass)—combine in every kind of psychedelic wizardry and textures amidst the hectic sludge, offering plenty of sonically attention-grabbing moments alongside the journey.
