London duo Flyte make heat, folky indie rock, and so they’ve obtained nice style in collaborators. In 2023, Flyte launched their self-titled album, and we posted “Robust Love,” their music with Laura Marling, in addition to a video of them performing that music with Florence Pugh, a film star who doesn’t sing that usually. Subsequent month, Flyte will launch a brand new album known as Between You And Me, and now they’ve obtained a brand new music that they co-wrote with Miya Folick and recorded with the legendary singer-songwriter Aimee Mann.
Flyte’s new observe “Alabaster” is a reasonably, hazy ramble, and Aimee Mann’s harmonies lend it an enormous sense of presence. Right here’s what Flyte’s Will Taylor says about it:
We started writing “Alabaster” with Miya Folick in Los Angeles a few fantasy affair within the midst of an apocalypse. We completed it on the street and again residence in London. It’s simple to really feel like we’re within the midst of the top occasions already, so it was efficient inspiration and inspired the raging fuzz guitar sound to cleared the path musically. We needed it to sound just like the music was burning down.
After we got here to report it, we felt it wanted to be a dialogue between two singers, very similar to with Laura Marling on the music “Robust Love” from our earlier report. Aimee Mann is an artist we grew up listening to and is a real LA legend, so it made excellent sense. It was a surreal honor listening to the voice of Magnolia, one in all our favorite movies, ripping by way of a Flyte observe.
