The one ‘empty’ by aubreyleighkirk arrives with lyrics so visceral they resound as if they’ve poured from a uncooked wound. Confounded with placing minor-key piano chords, filmic orchestral swells and the singer-songwriter’s seraphically melancholic vocal harmonies, the debut single immediately catches you off guard.
With gospel-esque choir vocals including to the arcane environment of the cinematic vignette—which illustrates the hollowness of loneliness once you’re lacking the heat of the one individual able to making you are feeling entire—aubreyleighkirk simply distinguished herself as a purveyor of genuine artistry. Because the trade waits with bated breath for extra of her discography to cascade from her cultivated pipeline, she’s already an indie pop icon to observe.
Aubrey grew up immersed in music. After graduating from the Manhattan College of Music with a BM in Musical Theatre, she pursued the humanities relentlessly and proudly joined the Actors’ Fairness Affiliation. Her profession soared within the cabaret scene, together with appearances at 54 Beneath, The Greenroom 42, and Birdland Jazz Membership. Up to now, she has carried out in three authentic works on the NY Winterfest, the NY Theatre Pageant, and a five-week Off-Broadway run on the Gamers Theater.
After constructing her movie presence in LA via lead roles in commercials, quick movies, and impartial options, she now flies between NYC and LA, forging her music path with ‘empty’ and making ready extra releases this winter.
