Alkaline Trio have unveiled a brand new single, Oblivion, produced by Travis Barker.
The band have teamed up with blink-182’s drummer for a complete of three tracks, with Oblivion arriving on July 18 forward of the Missionary Unattainable tour in August, September and October (which sees Alkaline Trio and blink hitting the highway collectively).
“Recording with Alkaline Trio was such a deal with,” enthuses Travis. “Bringing these songs to life from the demos Matt recorded was so thrilling. Each Matt and Dan are unbelievable lyricists, two of my all-time favourites. The studio by no means appears like work, only a magical place to create. The method was so pure and straightforward, I may’ve saved going eternally. Actually happy with these songs me, Matt, Dan, and Atom recorded. Excited for what’s forward for Alkaline Trio and for followers to listen to these particular songs we made.”
“I don’t suppose I’ve ever had such a good time within the studio,” continues Matt. “We’d wished to get into the studio with Atom as quickly as he’d joined the band and we lastly discovered the time to do it. The thought to work with Travis got here to me after guesting on a mission he was producing at his studio. I used to be blown away by how pure and wonderful Travis is within the function of a producer and by the wonder and serenity of his studio.
“We had initially gone in pondering we’d do a canopy we’d been taking part in with, to take the strain off of our first recording with Atom however ended up with three new songs. I already knew how nice Travis is within the studio – from my time with blink – past his nice drumming and distinctive and out-of-the-box songwriting talents. His imaginative and prescient and expertise is the proper match for us.
“I’m a drummer at coronary heart so having Atom and Travis working in tandem as drummers and songwriters was absolute heaven for me. Working with two of my favorite drummers was surreal and dreamlike, by no means thoughts two of my favorite individuals on the earth. I informed Travis that it actually appears like he’s our fourth member on this.”
