Alabama Shakes Share First New Music in a Decade – “One other Life”
A Third Album is on the Approach

Alabama Shakes have shared “One other Life,” which is their first new track in a decade. The one is out now on Island and a 3rd album from the band is promised to be within the works. Pay attention beneath, adopted by the band’s upcoming tour dates.
The band options Brittany Howard, Heath Fogg, and Zac Cockrell. Shawn Everett, a longtime collaborator with the band, produced the track, which was recorded at Sound Emporium Studios in Nashville, alongside different songs throughout a session in late 2024.
Howard had this to say in regards to the track in a press launch: “Once we wrote ‘One other Life,’ I used to be excited about all of the lives we feature. Those we’re dwelling proper now, those that slipped away due to totally different decisions, the what ifs, the what wasn’t meant to be, the goodbyes, and the possibility encounters that really feel divine. This track is about these threads and the way they stretch throughout time and house, connecting each model of who we’re. It’s about letting them come collectively, letting them harmonize, and realizing that goodbye isn’t actually goodbye. It’s extra like I’ll so long. A collective story that by no means stops unfolding. I’m glad we opened this door into this actuality of us making music collectively once more.”
The band’s final album was 2015’s Sound & Coloration, however since that point Howard has had a profitable solo profession.
